At Stepney Green Maths, Computing & Science College, we have a two-year (Year 7 and 8) KS3 curriculum which is broad and balanced in offering all pupils the opportunity to build their skills and knowledge in all of the following subjects:
- Art
- Design & Technology
- English
- Geography
- History
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Mathematics
- Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)
- Music
- Physical Education (PE)
- Religious Studies (RE)
Pupils are taught in mixed-ability groupings in all subjects apart from English, Maths and Science which operates a setting system from the beginning of Year 7.
In ADT, pupils study, Product Design and Resistant Materials and Graphics each year so that they experience all three disciplines.
In MFL, pupils study either Spanish or French in Year 7 and then can choose the language they study in Year 8 – French, Spanish or Bengali. For those pupils who are gifted at learning languages or who particularly enjoy the study of languages, there is the opportunity to study both French and Spanish during Year 8.
There is a wide range of extra-curricular activities on offer in many subject areas to support pupils’ learning beyond the classroom.
